Penn State Behrend offers a variety of scholarship opportunities to both undergraduate and graduate students. Scholarships are awarded based on a variety of criteria including academic merit, leadership potential, and financial need.
Students are automatically considered for some scholarships, including the academic and need-based scholarships, and the Chancellor’s Scholarships. Others, including leadership scholarships, employer-based Scholarships, and study abroad scholarships, require separate applications.
A number of outside scholarships are also available to eligible students.
To ensure maximum consideration for all of our scholarships, you are encouraged to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). First-year students should submit the FAFSA by March 1; current students should submit by April 15.
Scholarship award notices for all students will be sent to the student's permanent home address on record with the University. Your address can be updated, if necessary, on eLion.
All first-year scholarship notifications are made by mid-March (prior to fall enrollment). Upper-division students are notified during the summer months. Only students selected for scholarships are notified.
