Plastics Engineering Technology

Plastics Enginering Technology LaboratoryPenn State Behrend has the only plastics-specific majors available within Penn State and one of only four accredited programs in the United States. We have the largest plastics lab dedicated to undergraduate studies in the country, with multimillion dollar state-of-the-art computer, materials, and processing labs.

In the bachelor’s degree program, students learn about the design of plastics’ components and products, processing methods, and materials, in addition to addressing technical and management issues. In their senior year, students work in small teams with individual faculty to complete capstone design projects. Most projects are sponsored by industry partners, giving students the opportunity to work on industry projects while completing their education.
