Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, is committed to promoting diversity as an essential ingredient in its quest for greater excellence. The Office of Educational Equity and Diversity Programs supports and serves as an advocate for diverse populations within the college community, aiming to create an environment that promotes respect for differences while fostering caring relationships and cross-cultural understanding and appreciation throughout the campus.

In addition to providing services and resources for historically underrepresented racial/ethnic minorities, the office also works in support of students with disabilities and learning differences, international students, GLBTQ+ students, and women.

Events and Programs
The college hosts a number of cultural events throughout the year including the popular Rhythms of Life Series, Culture Week, Feminist Scholars Speakers Series, and the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration.
