Lloyd G. “Buzz” Waterhouse ’73Lloyd G. “Buzz” Waterhouse ’73 has served as president and CEO of Harcourt Education, a $1.7 billion provider of instructional materials, e-learning, and testing services for the global K-12 education market, where he led a successful effort to sell the company—culminating in a $5 billion transaction with Pearson and EMP in December 2007.

Prior to Harcourt, Waterhouse was CEO of The Reynolds and Reynolds Company and spent 26 years with IBM Corporation. He held various sales, marketing, finance, technology, and general management positions at IBM, including president of Asia Pacific Services Corporation and general manager of Marketing and Business Development for IBM Global Services. Currently, Waterhouse serves on the Board of Visitors for the Smeal College of Business as well as the boards of The Atlantic Mutual Companies, ITT Education, Axis Pointe, and i2 Technologies.

Waterhouse started his college education at Penn State Behrend and earned his degree in finance from Penn State University Park. He is a member of the Glenhill Society and a lifetime member of the Penn State Alumni Association. He and his wife, Lorraine, reside in Park City, Utah. They have two children, Lynn and Brian.
