All are invited to learn more about the sky above us in these non-technical presentations, which include astronomical viewing at the Mehalso Observatory, weather permitting.
Erie Planetarium at Penn State Behrend
The Erie Planetarium, a resource of the Erie community since 1959, is now part of Penn State Behrend. The planetarium will re-relocate to a new facility at Behrend, opening in summer 2014.
More than 100 students from several area high schools visit Penn State Behrend each year for a day of fun physics experiments and friendly competition. This year's event was on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, from 9:00-2:00 p.m. For more information, please call 814-898-6105.
The Science Olympiad is one of the premier science competitions in the nation, involving over 7,000 teams in all 50 states. The challenging and motivating events are aligned with PA Science Standards as well as National Science Education Standards. The NW PA Regional of the Science Olympiad will be held at Penn State Behrend on March 11, 2014.
A number of seminars on various scientific topics, led by our faculty and guest presenters, are held throughout the year.
