Recent graduates of Penn State Behrend’s English program are employed by: Blue Cross of Western Pennsylvania, Erie Art Museum, Erie Insurance, the Erie Times-News, Gannon University, Mercyhurst College, National Fuel, and Rodale Press.
Many graduates have also entered professional programs in law or medicine, or pursued advanced degrees in English and other disciplines. Several of our graduates teach English at the junior-high or high-school levels or work in the private sector for insurance companies, research institutions, corporations, and real estate firms. Others work in the public sector and for non-profit organizations.
English majors have also entered graduate programs at Carnegie Mellon University, New York University, Northwestern University, Ohio State University, Penn State University, State University of New York at Buffalo, Syracuse University, University of Northern Iowa, and West Virginia University.
