Poet Karina Borowicz will read from her new and published works in the Creative Writers Reading Series at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.
“The Bees Are Waiting,” a 2012 collection of Borowicz’s poetry, was selected by Franz Wright for the Marck Press Poetry Prize. Her work has appeared widely in journals, including AGNI, The Southern Review, Columbia Poetry Review and Poetry Northwest, and her translations have been featured in Poetry Daily.
After living abroad for five years, teaching English in Russia and Lithuania, Borowicz now resides in the Connecticut River Valley of western Massachusetts.
Borowicz’s reading takes place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, in Penn State Behrend’s Larry and Kathryn Smith Chapel. A reception for her will be held at 5:30 p.m.; both events are free and open to the public, and free parking will be available in the Junker Center lot.
Also appearing in the spring reading series will be literary nonfiction writer Diana Abu-Jaber on Thursday, April 25.
