College Adds Master's Program in Clinical Psychology

Applications are now being accepted for the newest graduate degree program at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College: the Master of Arts in Applied Clinical Psychology.

Tuition adjustments take effect each fall semester.  The fee structure for summer semesters may increase.

For Admissions Inquiries and Appointments:

ACPSY International Students

Individuals with international academic credentials will need to submit additional information for their applications to be complete. If you are an international student who requires an I-20 visa, you should submit your complete application six months prior to the start of the semester in which you wish to begin your studies. For fall 2017 admission consideration, applicants will need to submit a complete application before February 13, 2017.

In addition to the application requirements, individuals with international credentials must also submit:

Application Deadline Dates:

  • Applications for domestic applicants are due in full by April 30, 2017; take the GRE before or by April 8.
  • Applications for individuals who require a student visa are due in full by February 13, 2017.

How to Apply to the Master of Applied Clinical Psychology

In addition to the general prerequisites for admission to the Graduate School, the following is required by the ACPSY degree program:

ACPSY Program Overview

This 48-credit program emphasizes study of the scientific bases of behavior, including biological, social, and individual causes and their correlates. The broad training model is oriented to empirically supported treatment and the development of assessment and intervention skills. In addition to course work, you will complete 100 hours of clinical practicum, 600 hours of supervised internship experience, and a master’s research paper.

ACPSY Curriculum / Course Descriptions

The M.A. in Applied Clinical Psychology is a 48-credit program with optional 12-credit certificates for Licensed Professional Counselor preparation.

The program can be pursued full-time or part-time; new students can begin the program only in a fall semester.
