Chemistry Jobs

A Penn State Behrend chemistry education will provide the background and experience necessary for careers in biochemistry, chemical education, chemical sales and marketing, energy resources, environmental science, forensic chemistry, industrial chemistry, material science and nanotechnology, pharmaceutical synthesis and sales, polymer and organic synthesis, and for admission to medical and other professional schools.

An advanced degree will allow you to pursue an academic or research career in chemistry. Penn State Behrend chemistry graduates have been admitted to top graduate schools, including the University of California at Berkeley, Dartmouth, the University of North Carolina, Texas A&M, the University of Florida, Ohio State, the University of Kansas, and SUNY Buffalo.

Career Planning

The Academic and Career Planning Center (ACPC) assists students with career and life planning. You may schedule appointments with the ACPC staff to discuss career interests, skills, values, and goal setting, as well as how to find career information, internships, full-time jobs, and graduate schools. Students are encouraged to utilize the services of the ACPC.

Internships and Co-ops

Students in the School of Science can incorporate an internship experience into their academic program. These professional, career-related experiences in an organizational setting are valuable for a student's professional career development, and students may receive academic credit that applies to their degree program.

In addition, Penn State's Eberly College of Science Cooperative Education Program provides an excellent opportunity for Penn State Behrend students to integrate academic study with relevant experience in the workplace through alternating semesters of work and study.

If you are a student looking for more information on co-op and internship listings and how to apply, please contact your advisor or the Academic and Career Planning Center.
