Dr. Robert Roecklein’s second book, Machiavelli and Epicureanism: An Investigation into the Origins of Early Modern Political Thought, was released in October by Lexington Books. The book investigates the influence of Epicurean physics on the argument developed in Machiavelli’s Discourses on Livy. Roecklein’s first book, Plato versus Parmenides: The Debate over Coming-into-Being in Greek Philosophy, was published in 2010.
