Penn State Behrend’s Arts Administration degree is designed for students with an interest in the arts who want to pursue careers in the management of arts organizations. This interdisciplinary program combines a broad exposure to the arts with intensive training in marketing, management, event planning, and development. Internships on and off campus are part of the coursework and can be completed over the summer or over a course semester.
Graduates with degrees in arts administration can integrate their knowledge of the arts with business know-how to establish professionally and personally rewarding careers. Arts administrators are responsible for facilitating the day-to-day operations of organizations that can include for-profit entities such as auction houses, art galleries, and music companies as well as non-profit arts-related organizations like theaters, museums, symphonies, jazz organizations, opera houses, and ballet companies.
