The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Penn State Behrend invites applications for a one-year non-tenure track faculty position starting fall 2016.  Candidates should have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate education and an interest in teaching both courses and laboratories.  A minimum of a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or a closely related field is required.  Candidates with a Ph.D. and/or prior teaching experience are preferred.  Salary is competitive.  The successful candidate will join a growing department that values innovation in and out the classroom.  Students are active, engaged, and believe that making things matters.

PLASTICS ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY FACULTY POSITION
Tenure Track Faculty Position

Penn State Behrend invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in Plastics Engineering Technology at the rank of Assistant Professor starting fall 2016. Exceptionally qualified candidates will be considered for appointment at higher rank depending on qualifications. Candidates should be committed to excellence in undergraduate education and to developing a sustainable applied research program that includes, but is not limited to, industry supported research. Technical areas of interest for the position include plastics manufacturing (including tooling and design), polymer process simulation, process-based polymer rheology, mechanical and thermal analysis, and polymer characterization. Ideal candidates will have a thorough understanding of plastics processing methods, tooling and simulation. A Ph.D. in plastics, polymer, mechanical, materials, chemical engineering, or related field is required. Two years or more of industry experience is preferred. Salary is competitive.

The School of Engineering at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, has a need for part-time Instructors in engineering disciplines for fall (August) and spring (January). The 10 positions are dependent upon class enrollments; enrollments of less than 9 students may necessitate cancelling the class and position. Salary is competitive. Responsibilities include using a syllabus and course materials approved by the School of Engineering to teach courses offered in our baccalaureate programs. Required qualifications include evidence of an earned Master of Science degree in an engineering discipline or a baccalaureate degree with significant industrial experience; evidence of a commitment to excellence in teaching including use of current technology; evidence of a commitment to working collegially and with individuals from diverse backgrounds, commensurate with experience.
