Tenure Track Computer Science Faculty Position

The Computer Science and Software Engineering Department at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position starting fall 2015. We are seeking applications from candidates with a commitment to excellence in undergraduate education and research scholarship. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field, with the ability to teach Computer Science and Software Engineering courses as well as develop a program of research. Preferred areas of research experience include, but are not limited to, requirements engineering, software quality and maintenance, programming languages, human-computer interaction, and mobile computing. Candidates with prior teaching experience or relevant industry experiences are preferred. Salary is competitive and rank is commensurate with experience.

GAME Development Non-Tenure Track Faculty Position

 

The Computer Science and Software Engineering Department at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, invites applications for a non-tenure track position starting in Fall 2015. The department is looking for an enthusiastic, talented faculty member with demonstrated technical and artistic accomplishments to help develop the college’s Game Development program. The successful candidate will play an integral role in teaching our established courses, developing new courses, play an integral role in the development of new courses and contributing to interdisciplinary programs and projects. Applicants should have in-depth knowledge and skills in game development processes including but not limited to: game art and animation, game studies design, game programming, and/or computer graphics as demonstrated by scholarly work, teaching experience, and a portfolio of created works. The candidate is expected to have a strong commitment to undergraduate education and to developing a program of research scholarship. A master’s degree or Ph.D. is required. Salary is competitive.

Penn State Erie invites applications for a Non-Tenure Track Faculty Position in Mechanical Engineering at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor to begin August 2015. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic faculty member in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on undergraduate teaching. Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, invites applicants for an Industrial Engineering tenure track faculty position starting Fall 2015 at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of healthcare systems. Candidates should be committed to a balance between excellence in undergraduate education and an active research program. Candidates will be required to teach undergraduate IE courses in engineering economy, product design specification and measurement, stochastic models in operations research, machining process design and analysis, manufacturing system design and analysis, and simulation modeling for decision support. Plastics Engineering Technology Faculty Position: Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, invites applicants for a tenure track faculty position starting fall 2015. Qualified candidates will be considered for appointment at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor. Candidates should be committed to undergraduate education and to developing a sustainable applied research program. Technical areas of interest for the position include plastics manufacturing (including tooling and design), polymer process simulation, process-based polymer rheology, mechanical and thermal analysis, characterization, formulation, and development, and micro-molding. A Ph.D. in plastics, polymer, mechanical, materials, chemical engineering, or related field is required and a minimum of two years of industry experience is preferred.

The 10 positions are dependent upon class enrollments; enrollments of less than 9 students may necessitate cancelling the class and position. Salary is competitive.
