Plastics 205

Welcome to Plastics 205

An Introductory Plastics Engineering Technology College-Level Course, offered online to Penn State students or through Community and Workforce Programs to our industry constituents.

Plastics 205 is a three-credit introductory course, designed for web-based delivery. Credits earned can be applied to the associate or baccalaureate degree in Plastics Engineering Technology offered at Penn State Behrend.

This course provides an introduction to the plastics industry, including the fundamental aspects of plastic materials. Common material fabrication processes are also covered, along with an overview of how the chemical structure of polymers influences their mechanical and flow properties. Students interface with their instructor using Penn State’s Canvas course management system through email, discussion boards, and chat rooms.
