Penn State Behrend will host its signature undergraduate research event, the 25th Annual Undergraduate Student Research and Creative Accomplishment Conference, on Saturday, April 16, beginning at 8 a.m.
The conference, sponsored by Penn State Behrend and the Northwest Pennsylvania Chapter of Sigma Xi, an international, multidisciplinary research society, gives students from colleges and universities from across the region the opportunity to present their research findings and showcase their creative accomplishments through posters and oral presentations. The half-day event concludes with an awards ceremony.
**IMPORTANT -- Please Note Requirements for Abstract Submission**
Abstracts must be uploaded as Word documents at http://behrend.psu.edu/URCAbstract following the requirements no later than February 24, 2016. Non-Penn-State students: In order to upload and submit your abstract you must apply for a Friends of Penn State account (https://fps.psu.edu). You will immediately receive an e-mail with your username and password.
No abstracts will be accepted after February 24, 2016.
Penn State Behrend students who have received an Undergraduate Student Spring Semester Semester Research Grant, Undergraduate Student Fall Semester Research Grant, and/or an Undergraduate Student Summer Research Fellowship are required to present their results at the conference OR at another regional or national conference scheduled on the same date. Abstracts must be submitted in accordance with the requirements in the call for abstracts.
The conference is open to undergraduate students in all academic disciplines at all regional colleges and universities and Penn State campuses.
If you have submitted an abstract and DO NOT receive an e-mail confirming receipt of the abstract within two business days, please contact Dr. Robert Light's office at 814-898-6160. Notification of acceptance will be sent via e-mail on Monday, March 7, 2016. The notification will include information on presentation guidelines and an awards presentation agenda.
