Supermileage Team Hopes to Travel 2,000 Miles on One Gallon of Gas

The longest six minutes of Cody Colpo’s summer will be on Friday, the final day of the Society of Automotive Engineers’ International Supermileage Challenge. He’ll be watching a timer, waiting for a carbon-fiber test car to clear the far side of the track at the Eaton Corporation’s Marshall Proving Grounds.

Three Faculty Members Earn Promotions and Tenure

Three members of the faculty at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, have been granted tenure and promoted:

 

Jason Bennett, associate professor of chemistryJason A. Bennett is now associate professor of chemistry. He teaches general chemistry, quantitative analysis, instrumental analysis and upper-level instrumentation lab experiments.

Construction to Begin on $16.5M Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Center

Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, and the Greater Erie Industrial Development Corp., an affiliate of DevelopErie, broke ground on May 15 for a $16.5 million Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Center, a collaborative research facility that will add classrooms, engineering labs and private industry space to Knowledge Park.
