The GE Girls Camp was held the week of June 20-24 at Penn State Behrend.Seventh-grader Olivia Jaworski is hopeful that a career in medicine awaits her, but until last week, she had not considered any other options.

The lab coordinator is a service position that provides important support to the School of Engineering so that it can maintain technically current labs that operate smoothly.

The Supervisor (PI/Faculty) is responsible for the safe and legal conduct of research under his or her purview. This responsibility shall not be delegated. The supervisor shall be aware of the physical and health hazards associated with all materials present in his/her laboratory and in the event of an accident, shall initiate appropriate emergency procedures.

Lab Safety Officer (LSO) Authority:

The Lab Safety Officer (LSO) has the FULL authority of the School of Engineering to enforce safety policies. When unsafe conditions, practices, or equipment are reported or observed, the LSO may take prompt corrective action up to and including shutdown of all equipment in lab with e-stop if necessary.

If you are a student in the Penn State Behrend Plastics Engineering Technology program (PLTBD), co-ops are recommended but not required. You may find a co-op position on your own, or you may use the Academic and Career Planning Center at Penn State Behrend or Career Services at University Park. All co-ops must be approved by the Plastics Engineering

If you are a student in the Electrical or Computer Engineering programs, you can incorporate a cooperative educational or internship experience into your academic program. These experiences are considered professional, career -related experiences in an organizational setting for which the student may receive academic credit that applies to the degree program.
