Berkey Creamery Ice Cream Now Available in Erie

August 23, 2011 – Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, is now selling Berkey Creamery ice cream—cones, dishes, sundaes and milk shakes—on campus for students, employees and the public.

The Berkey Creamery, as it is now known, is the largest university creamery in the nation. Creamery ice cream is so fresh that, on average, only four days elapse between the cow and a newly dipped cone.

The coffee shop at Bruno's Café, located on the second floor of the Reed Union Building, will stock eight flavors and will offer new, evening hours to accommodate Creamery ice cream fans in northwestern Pennsylvania.

The coffee shop's regular hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. The shop will re-open Sunday through Thursday evenings from 6 to 10 p.m. Ice cream, bakery goods and Starbucks coffee will be available any time the shop is open.

Current ice cream flavors are peachy Paterno, death by chocolate, bittersweet mint, butter pecan, strawberry, chocolate chip cookie dough, cookies and cream, and WPSU coffee break. A cone or dish is $3, milk shakes are $3.25 and sundaes start at $4.

Penn State Behrend's coffee shop also sells Starbucks favorites, including lattes, mochas, caramel macchiatos, cappuccinos, Frappuccinos and steamers.
