The Choirs of Penn State Behrend will perform their next concert on Sunday, April 27.Music from American composers Aaron Copland, Cecil Effinger, and Kirke Mechem will highlight the selections at this year’s Penn State Behrend Chamber Singers and Concert Choir’s spring concert.

The concert, titled “Wayfaring Stranger,” will be held Sunday, April 27, at 4:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Erie, 7th and Sassafras Street.

African-American spirituals, a folk song from Northern Thailand and music of the French Renaissance will be performed in addition to the selections from the various American composers.

“The selections were chosen around the themes of wandering, journeying and seeking out a place to belong,” said Gabrielle Dietrich, choir conductor and director of choral programs at the college. “They will be interwoven with selections by singer, songwriter and Penn State Behrend student Rashmit Arora, which will provide the audience with a continuous, varied musical experience.”

Admission to “Wayfaring Stranger” is free and open to the public. For additional information, please contact Dietrich at gpd10@psu.edu.
